MMA Fighter Conor McGregor has promised to donate one million euros to help fight the Coronavirus pandemic in Ireland. The athlete reported it on Twitter.
McGregor has published correspondence with the Irish Finance Minister. The money donated by the 31-year-old athlete will be used to purchase protective equipment for medical professionals fighting the pandemic in the province of Leicester.

On March 24, the fighter called on the Irish authorities to strengthen quarantine measures during the spread of coronavirus. McGregor said airports and a number of facilities that do not provide essential services should be closed down.
McGregor is known for his performances in the UFC. The athlete became the champion of the organization in two weight categories.
