“The 44-year-old man was the second confirmed man in the Philippines with the new 2019-nCoV coronavirus. He passed away on 1 February 2020,” the report said.
This is the first reported case of death outside mainland China. By the end of Saturday, the total number of victims in the PRChina of the new virus reached 304 people, the state television company CCTV reported on Sunday, citing the National Health Commission of the PRC.
In the past 24 hours, 45 people have died in China, all of them residents of the central province of Hubei, the epicenter of the new coronavirus outbreak. Within 24 hours, 2,590 new cases of infection have been detected. The total number of cases, according to the latest data, is 14,380.
