George Floyd’s family applied for a trademark with his name on it

Brother of African-American George Floyd, killed by a police officer in Minneapolis, applied to use the George Floyd Foundation trademark. This has been reported by local media.

If the application is approved by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the family will be able to sell branded goods with the logo of the Foundation.

At the same time, according to George Floyd’s brother named Filonese, the main task of the Foundation is to educate the public about the reform of the U.S. police, as well as to support families who are victims of brutality by law enforcement officials.

Also, relatives of the deceased hope to put the Foundation’s logo on the application for mobile phones, which will monitor the police reform, give access to documentary movies about George Floyd and other information about the problem of racism.
