Rockstar Games made an unprecedented decision. The company will close access to Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online for two hours. The reason was the protests in the United States.
With their actions, developers want to express solidarity with the movement of Black Lives Matter, as well as to honor the memory of black American George Floyd. He was killed by police on May 25, after which mass protests and riots started in the US.
Black Lives Matter. To honor the legacy of George Floyd, today, 6/4/20, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. ET, we will be shutting down access to our online games, Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online.

Rockstar Games also called for the support of charities in the U.S., which are fighting for the civil rights of racial minorities. The studio tweeted about it.
