Heineken Brewery Group CEO Jean-Francois van Boxmeer may succeed Gerard Kleisterle as Chairman of the Board of Directors of British mobile operator Vodafone Group. On July 28, Vodafone’s annual shareholders meeting will vote on his candidacy, the operator’s press office said.
Kleisterle became Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vodafone in July 2011, shortly after he stepped down as President and CEO of Royal Philips Electronics.
Van Boxmeer, who has headed Heineken since 2005, will retire in June. If the shareholders of Vodafone agree to his appointment, he will take office on November 3.
Vodafone shares will be 0.1% cheaper on Friday.
