More than 1.3 thousand people were detained in the U.S. during the protests

Police detained more than 1.3 thousand people in 16 cities in the U.S. during protests caused by the death of George Floyd.

It is reported that at least 13 police officers were injured during the protests in Philadelphia, while four cars of police officers were set on fire.

The riots erupted in Minneapolis and several other cities in the United States after a video appeared on the Internet showing the brutal detention by police of African-American George Floyd, who was suspected of using counterfeit money.

The police detained the man and threw him to the ground, and one of the police officers pressed his neck with his knee. Floyd started screaming that he couldn’t breathe, then fainted and later died in hospital.

After the riots broke out, four African-American police officers were fired and one of them was charged with murder by manslaughter.
