252,245 people in Russia infected with coronavirus by May 14, according to the Federal Operational Headquarters. The number of new cases per day amounted to 9974. A total of 2305 people died with coronavirus, 93 of them – in the last 24 hours.
The number of people infected with coronavirus in Moscow has reached 130 716 people. Moscow remains the region with the highest daily increase in detected cases: the diagnosis of COVID-19 was made in 4712 patients per day. A total of 1290 infected people died in the city.
After Moscow, the largest number of new cases were detected in the Moscow region (+918 patients), St. Petersburg (+460), Nizhny Novgorod, and Ivanovo regions (+238 and +102 respectively). In the rest of the regions, the number of new cases out of the top ten is less than 100. 98 new cases were detected in Dagestan and Tula Region, 97 in Kaluga Region and Krasnodar Territory, 96 in Volgograd Region.
In addition to Moscow, the Moscow Region (24,580), St. Petersburg (8,945), Nizhny Novgorod Region (5,596), Dagestan (3095), Murmansk and Sverdlovsk Regions (2492 and 2362 respectively), Krasnodar Territory (2319), Tula and Kaluga Regions (2,158 and 2,115 respectively) were the most affected.
Since the beginning of the epidemic 53 530 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Russia, 196 410 people are still being treated. There are 259,000 people under medical supervision because of suspected coronavirus infection, Rospotrebnadzor noted.
