New York authorities promise police reform amidst protests in the U.S.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a number of police reforms amid continuing unrest in the country due to the death of African American George Floyd from police custody. This was reported by CBS.

So in the city, the police plan to allocate part of the funding to work with young people.

The mayor said that the authorities would focus on summer activities of young people. In his opinion, young people should be reached, not subjected to police measures.

“I want people to understand that we are trying to redistribute resources in order to focus on our youth,” de Blasio said.

He also added that all measures will be taken with security in mind in the city.
