The Su-27 fighter jet, according to preliminary data, fell in the waters of the Black Sea during scheduled flights. This was reported by the Russian News Agency RIA Novosti with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The agency specified that the fighter jet disappeared from the radar screens above the Black Sea 50 kilometers from Feodosia in the Crimea. It happened in the evening, around 20:10(MSK), March 25. A minute later, an emergency beacon signal was recorded in this area.
To the place where the signal was recorded, sent a small anti-submarine ship, An-26 aircraft, Mi-8 helicopter, and civilian ships. The search is complicated by difficult weather conditions.
Earlier, in December 2019, it was reported about the crash of the Su-57, which was to become the first serial fighter Jet of the fifth generation adopted by the Russian Air and Space Forces. The incident took place 111 kilometers from the Dzemgi airfield in the Khabarovsk region during tests from the manufacturer. The fighter jet did not belong to the Ministry of Defense, there was a civil aviation pilot at the helm.
