NK authorities confirmed that the building of the inter-Korean liaison office in the North Korean city of Kaesong was destroyed by their decision.
According to Korea’s Central Telegraph Agency, “DPRK has implemented measures to completely destroy the North/South Liaison Office at the Kesong Industrial Complex in light of the severance of all communication lines between North and South.
The head of the South Korean Unification Ministry, Kim Yong Chul, said that the DPRK authorities had “partially announced in advance” about the action being prepared in Kaesong.
Last week, the DPRK authorities announced that they were cutting off contacts with Seoul through all existing communication channels. This step followed DPRK’s protest over activists throwing propaganda leaflets into North Korean territory from South Korea.
