The suspected CIA agent has been sentenced to death in Iran for spying on Iran’s nuclear program. The official representative of the Supreme Court of Iran Gholam Hossein Ismaili told journalists on Tuesday.
“One of the CIA spies named Amir Rahimpur was sentenced to death. The Supreme Court upheld that sentence,” Tasnim agency quoted Hossein Ismaili as saying. – He tried to pass on information about Iran’s nuclear program to US intelligence.
According to him, “the sentence should be carried out soon so that his patrons understand that Iran will not condone its foreign enemies. “Our logic and actions show the ability to respond decisively to enemy initiatives,” Ismaili said.
He added that “two other CIA agents have been identified, who was working for a charity. “They were sentenced to ten and five years’ imprisonment,” said a Supreme Court spokesman.
Due to the deterioration of relations between Tehran and Washington, there is a campaign in Iran to identify foreign agents. Thus, on October 1, 2019, a citizen of the country was sentenced to death for espionage in favor of the United States.
