Albuquerque police in New Mexico arrested American Mixed Style Fighter (MMA), Jon Jones. This is reported by MMA Fighting.
The 32-year-old was detained on the morning of March 26. The fighter is accused of driving drunk, carelessly using firearms, as well as lack of a car insurance certificate. According to law enforcement officials, the officers heard gunshots and then found Jones driving the car. At the time of apprehension, the soldier denied that he had fired a gun. They also suspected that the athlete was under the influence of alcohol.
There’s no comment on the incident in the American’s entourage yet. Jones has already been released from custody.
Jones is known for his performance in the UFC Absolute Fighting Championships. He holds the UFC light heavyweight title with three successful belt defenses. Over the past two years, the American has defeated his compatriots Anthony Smith, Dominick Reyes, and Brazilian Thiago Santos.
Jones is ranked number one in the UFC Top Fighters Rankings, not counting the weight categories.
