The first death of a coronavirus patient was recorded in Estonia. An 83-year-old woman died in Lääne-Tallinn Central Hospital. This was reported on Wednesday, March 25, according to ERR.ee.
The patient had chronic problems with the cardiovascular system. “This is an emotionally very difficult moment and a sad day. However, it shows that we must continue to fight the spread of the virus,” commented on the death of the woman, Arkady Popov, medical director of the crisis headquarters of the Health Department.
He called to be prepared for what could be other deaths due to infection by a coronavirus. “Therefore, it is crucial to avoid close contact with elderly and chronically ill people,” Popov added.
A total of 404 people in Estonia have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
