According to the newspaper, the detainee was armed with a knife.
Roger Hedgpeth, a 25-year-old Florida resident armed with a knife who threatened to kill U.S. President Donald Trump, was detained near the White House. The Washington Post reported this on Sunday, citing a local police report.
“I am here to kill President Donald Trump <…> I have a knife to do it,” the detainee told law enforcement. Police said Roger Hedgpeth looked lost and gave the impression of a man “undergoing psychiatric treatment,” the newspaper explained.
The incident took place on Saturday. In addition to the knife, Hedzhpet had an empty holster for his gun.
