The U.S. President Donald Trump held telephone negotiations with the Russian president Vladimir Putin,
the Reuters agency with reference to the press secretary of the White House Sara Sanders reported. The parties discussed, in particular, results of investigation of the special prosecutor of the USA Robert Mueller about Russia investigation in 2016 presidential elections which came to the end in March.
Sanders emphasized that “both leaders knew that conspiracy (between Trump and representatives of the Russian authorities) was not”, CNBC notes. According to her, Trump and Putin discussed this question “shortly”. The White House called a conversation “very positive”. The conversation took place at the initiative of Washington, the Kremlin press service reported later.
The parties discussed the possible new nuclear agreement between the USA, Russia and China or a possibility of the extension existing – between the USA and Russia. They talked about a situation in the DPRK and Venezuela. Trump urged Putin to strengthen pressure upon the DPRK for the purpose of nuclear disarmament of the region. Putin in turn said that Venezuelans “have the right to define the future of the country”.
Putin and Trump’s conversation lasted almost an hour and a half, RIA Novosti with reference to the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov specifies. The Russian leader in a conversation with the American colleague noted that the new authorities of Ukraine need to take real steps on implementation of the Minsk agreements, it is said in the statement of the Kremlin. Putin and Trump’s communication – their first contact after the December summit of “twenty” in Argentina. Then the American leader cancelled the planned meeting with Putin at the last minute, and they communicated only on the forum sidelines.
