U.S. President Donald Trump said that Washington is considering sending 2,000 U.S. troops to Poland, but no decision has been made yet. The Hill reported.
The U.S. President also noted that America does not plan to send additional military personnel to Europe, and the possible sending of military personnel to Poland would take place by moving those who are in service in Germany or in another Country of Europe.
The US President’s statement was made during a joint press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda.
During the press conference, Trump said that the U.S. welcomes Poland’s purchase of F-35 fighter jets.
“Poland has ordered 32 to 35 brand-new F-35s at the highest level. The latest model,” the US president said.
On May 30, it was reported that according to the military modernization plan, Warsaw plans to spend about $48 billion on new weapons and equipment until 2026. The Polish Ministry of Defense has sent a request to the United States, where it is talking about plans to purchase 32 U.S. F-35A fighter jets.
